The fake delivery fee scam: "your parcel is held"
A message says your parcel is held and charges a small fee through a link. Correios do not send payment links or ask for data by SMS, e-mail or messaging app.
Also called: fake delivery fee, parcel held scam.
How it works
- An SMS or message arrives: the parcel is held, taxed or has an incomplete address.
- The link opens a page that looks like Correios or a courier.
- The page charges a fee by Pix or card, and sometimes keeps the card details.
Where it usually starts: SMS, messaging app, e-mail.

The real message
The real company never asks for a code, a password or a Pix to a personal key. On Bipe, it will show the seal and its CNPJ (coming soon).

How to spot it
- You were not expecting anything, or the message does not say which shop.
- The amount is small, so you pay without thinking.
- The link is not the official site.
What to do
- Do not pay through the link. Check the parcel in the official Correios app or site.
- Import tax is paid only on the official site, with the tracking code.
- Gave your card? Ask your bank to block it and file a police report.

Scam warnings
A warning shows under a message that looks like a scam, such as a rushed Pix, a new number or a boleto. It is on by default, with nothing to set up.

What Bipe does not solve here
It almost always arrives by SMS, outside Bipe. On Bipe, the name Correios is reserved and the warning shows on messages with a link and a delivery fee.
Bipe only protects the chats that happen in Bipe. If someone in the family still uses another app, a scammer can write to them there.
