# Fake delivery fee scam: how it works and what to do · Bipe A message says your parcel is held and charges a small fee through a link. Correios do not send payment links or ask for data by SMS, e-mail or messaging app. **The fake delivery fee scam: "your parcel is held"** Also called: fake delivery fee, parcel held scam. ## How it works 1. An SMS or message arrives: the parcel is held, taxed or has an incomplete address. 2. The link opens a page that looks like Correios or a courier. 3. The page charges a fee by Pix or card, and sometimes keeps the card details. ## How to spot it - You were not expecting anything, or the message does not say which shop. - The amount is small, so you pay without thinking. - The link is not the official site. ## What to do - Do not pay through the link. Check the parcel in the official Correios app or site. - Import tax is paid only on the official site, with the tracking code. - Gave your card?
